File requirements, size limits, and troubleshooting steps for PDF uploads.
Use this guide when a PDF fails validation, times out during upload, or looks wrong after processing.

Reduce file size
If the PDF is over 4.5 MB:
- Adobe Acrobat:
File -> Save as Other -> Reduced Size PDF - macOS Preview:
File -> Export -> Quartz Filter -> Reduce File Size - Online tools: SmallPDF, ILovePDF, or Adobe's online compressor
Fix common upload problems
Upload fails or times out
- Verify the connection is stable.
- Retry in a different browser.
- Clear browser cache and cookies.
- Disable browser extensions temporarily.
- Remove special characters from the file name.
Invalid PDF format
- Re-export the PDF from the original application.
- Open it in Adobe Reader and save a fresh copy.
- Remove password protection or encryption.
- Confirm the extension is
.pdf.
File looks corrupted after upload
- Make sure the original opens correctly on your device.
- Flatten the PDF if it contains annotations or form fields.
- Re-export scanned documents instead of relying on printer-generated PDFs.
